SEND Bases

Communication and Interaction Enhanced Mainstream School (EMS) – based at Pentland Primary School.

Pentland Primary School is the home to one of Stockton’s three Communication and Interaction EMS bases. Due to our outstanding reputation and dedication to meeting the child’s individual needs, we are heavily, oversubscribed. Meeting the specific needs of each child is what drives us in providing a tailored provision, where the child is placed for their stage, not age, in one of the three progressive hubs.

Each Hub interweaves daily regulation and sensory activities throughout their day. The initial aim is to always meet the communication and interaction need, with the academic provision following closely behind. The academic demand to each pupil will be dependent to the stage they are at and the Hub they are in. Social stories and social activities are part of their day to day activities to prepare our children for their future lives.

Places for our Hubs are in high demand and allocated through discussion with the local authority and through a carefully selected panel. However, the staff in our schools are always willing to support, provide advice and support other schools. Please contact us for more information.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health Enhanced Mainstream School (EMS) – based at St Mark’s Primary School

St Mark’s C of E Primary School is the home to one of Stockton’s two SEMH EMS bases. Due to our exceptional reputation and proven record in meeting the child’s individual needs, we are over our subscribed, funded places. Meeting the specific needs of each child is what drives us and results in our exceptional success rate in integration back into main stream education.

Each day is planned to allow the children to succeed, build relationships and regulate their emotions and feelings. Daily sensory, regulation and occupational therapy activities allow our children to thrive once again and create life long friendships.

Places for our SEMH bases are in high demand and allocated through discussion with the local authority and through a carefully selected panel. However, the staff in our schools are always willing to support, provide advice and support other schools. Please contact us for more information.
