Mike is a local government officer with several decades of experience, working with a number of local authorities, in a variety of services including:- planning, economic development, finance, asset management, legal and project management. He has been a school governor for 30 years and l am currently on the governing bodies of three East Cleveland Primary Schools. He is also a Director of the East Cleveland Co-operative Learning Trust.

For the last ten years, Mike has been a volunteer crew member with the Tall Ships Youth Trust and have sailed with hundreds of young people, enabling their personal development through sail training. He is also a volunteer with an organisation which maintains and operates steam locomotives on the West Highland Railway; the Jacobite or Harry Potter train.
